The 5/8 inch DOVO 100 is an excellent straight razor for beginners and for those who prefer a robust and simple blade. In terms of quality, it is on par with its counterparts and is the perfect introduction to traditional wet shaving. All surfaces of the razor are meticulously finished by hand in multiple steps. The top and bottom of the tang are ribbed, ensuring you always have a firm grip, even with wet or soapy fingers.

Material
This open razor is made of carbon steel with material number 1.2210, better known as silver steel. To achieve a hardness of about 61 HRC, the material is heated to over 1000 degrees Celsius and then immediately cooled with a special oil. The subsequent tempering at about 200 degrees Celsius gives the blade elasticity and toughness.

Handle material
PMMA, also known as acrylic glass, is a thermoplastic material. A complex polishing process gives it its unmistakable shine and emphasizes the high-quality appearance of the DOVO straight razors. The material requires no special care; soap residues and dirt can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth.

Grinding
With a hollow grind, the razor is concavely sharpened from the back to the edge. This design combines great flexibility with high torsional stiffness in length. Enjoy the satisfying sound and feel of a smooth shave through the vibration of the blade as it trims your beard hair.
